Meet Your Salesperson: Grant Tallmadge

| 07.06.2019

Get to know Propeller’s world-class team in our new, ongoing employee spotlight series. Today, we talk to Grant Tallmadge, who serves as a sales development representative and is based out of our Denver, Colorado, office.Grant Tallmadge

What do you do at Propeller?

I do sales development. That means I help out our sales team with outbound prospecting for new businesses as well as following up with incoming leads from our marketing program or our dealers. Right now, I’m focusing on potential customers in the western US and Canada, in addition to helping out in the Midwest region.

What’s your career background?

Mostly involving sales in one form or another. I’m a former small business owner. I owned my own painting company that I helped found and operate for five years before entering the world of software sales. First with one Australian software company for a year, then I came on board with Propeller.

Where did you grow up?

Here in Denver—a true local.

Before working at Propeller, what’s the strangest or most interesting job you’ve held?

That’s a good question. Outside of owning my own business, one of the coolest jobs I had was working at a hot dog stand for a week over summer break in high school.

If you could be any piece of worksite equipment, what would you be?

Definitely an excavator. They’re the most diverse piece of equipment. They can dig, they can do demolition, they can install utilities. It’s my favorite piece of heavy machinery. I’ve always loved heavy equipment, which was a big part of me wanting to work at Propeller.

What’s your favorite Propeller memory?

I really enjoy our Dilly Downs, when most of the Denver office—sales and marketing—get to come together to talk about projects every other week.

If you could attend any professional sports game, what would it be and why?

That’s a tough one. I’d say the Winter Olympics, even though that’s not really one game. I’d love to see them in either Japan or Europe and watch the slope-style snowboarding event.

Any fun facts, talents, or secret superpowers to share?

I can play the guitar. I can ski and snowboard—pretty boilerplate stuff here in Colorado. I can also move my right ear, but only my right ear.

If you could do any job on a worksite for just one day, what would you pick?

It’d have to be an excavator operator doing demolition. I’d want to be the one tearing a building down.
